We support employees, individuals, and not-for-profit organizations that benefit the Atlantic region, while keeping fiscal responsibility in mind. While we participate in a wide variety of initiatives on an annual basis, below are a few highlights.

Recent Partnerships
Grenfell Campus Athletics Scholarships
We are a proud sponsor of the Grenfell Warriors and the athletic programs at Memorial University-Grenfell Campus in Western Newfoundland. Through our sponsorship and community partnership, new opportunities are being presented to individuals, groups, and organizations in the region. We are proud of the role we play in helping students grow and excel in their athletic and personal development activities.
Janeway Teddy Bear Convoy
We support the Newfoundland and Labrador trucking industry during the annual Janeway Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. As part of the Telethon, many of the province’s commercial trucking representatives come together as members of the “Just for Kids Transportation Group” for a Teddy Bear Convoy. The convoy raises funds for sick kids and puts a smile on the faces of the many children who use the Janeway Children’s Hospital each year.
Atlantic Burn Camp
The Atlantic Burn Camp is designed for children between ages 6 and 17 who have experienced injuries from burns. Since the beginning, Marine Atlantic has been a major event supporter. We provide complimentary travel for campers and counsellors to and from Newfoundland and Labrador and, along with other community sponsors, participate in the carnival night with a games booth. Our dedicated volunteers go above and beyond every year to make this a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Make-A-Wish Canada
Make-A-Wish Canada’s mission is to grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions, and to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Marine Atlantic was pleased to partner with the organization in 2017 to make a wish come true for a young girl wanting to travel to Newfoundland and Labrador by ferry. The positive experience resulted in a multi-year partnership between Marine Atlantic and Make-A-Wish Canada, so that we may help make other wishes come true.
Big Bike Ride
Our employees are proud to participate in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s annual fundraising event, the Big Bike Ride. In addition to these fundraising activities, we also partner with the Foundation to offer information sessions to employees about heart disease and stroke warning signs and prevention activities.
