Premium Booking Changes

Effective May 27, 2024, we are making changes to our premium booking process. Premium bookings will now be available to book further in advance and customers will be able to make amendments to their bookings as needed. The goal of these changes is to provide customers with more flexibility. 

NEW

  • Premium bookings will be available up to 3 months at a time on a rolling monthly basis. On the first Monday of every month at 10:00 NL time, another month of sailings will be made available for booking. 
  • Bookings will remain available up to 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, based on availability. 
  • To maintain order sequence, customers must call Reservations at 1-800-341-7981 to make a premium booking. There are no limits to the number of bookings a customer can make during a single call; however, a company may only book up to two premiums per sailing.
  • Amendments may be made up until check-in time, via Reservations or at the terminal, at no additional cost. 
  • Check-in times: 3 hours before departure for drop units and 2 hours for live units. 
  • Note: Units that do not arrive for their scheduled sailing, without prior notice before departure, will be cancelled with full forfeit of the ticket price. 
  • Premium bookings impacted by cancelled sailings will be assigned to the first available sailing. In the unlikely case where this is not possible, units will be assigned in booking sequence and will maintain priority on the next available sailing. The premium fee will be refunded.

Some aspects of the current premium booking program will remain the same: 

  • Bookings must be paid at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 
  • Five premium booking spaces will be available on each sailing.  
  • Units transporting dangerous goods, livestock or over-dimensional loads may not book as premium units. 
     

IMPORTANT DATES

Monday, May 27 - 10:00 NL Time
All changes come into effect. 
Premium spaces will be released for all sailings up to and including July 31, 2024. 

Monday, June 3 – 10:00 NL Time
Premium spaces for August 2024 will be available. 

Why are changes being made? 
Our goal is to improve the service options we provide our customers. Our customers have asked for more flexibility to better align with the transportation realities they face every day, such as impacts to timelines that are beyond their control. 

Will there be more changes? 
We will monitor these changes as they come into effect and continue to review feedback from our customers. Additional modifications may be made to further the goal of meeting our customers’ needs.
