Increased Premium Booking Availability

We are making additional premium bookings available on every departure. Effective Monday, October 7, 2024, the number of available spaces will increase from five to nine on most sailings. 

In addition to the changes made to our premium booking program earlier this year, which included the ability to book further in advance and provided no-charge amendments, this increase builds upon our goal of giving customers more flexibility.  

  • Bookings must be paid at the time of booking and are non-refundable.  
  • Premium bookings will be available up to 3 months at a time on a rolling monthly basis. On the first Monday of every month at 10:00 NL time, another month of sailings will be made available for booking. Bookings will remain available up to 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, based on availability.  
  • To maintain order sequence, customers must call Reservations at 1-800-341-7981 to make a premium booking. There are no limits to the number of bookings a customer can make during a single call; however, a company may only book up to two premiums per sailing.
  • Amendments may be made up until check-in time at no additional cost, via Reservations or at the terminal.  
  • Check-in times: 3 hours before departure for drop units and 2 hours for live units. 
  • Note: Units that do not arrive for their scheduled departure, without prior notice, will be cancelled with full forfeit of the ticket price.  
  • Premium bookings impacted by cancelled sailings will be assigned to the first available sailing. In the unlikely case where this is not possible, units will be assigned in booking sequence and will maintain priority on the next available sailing. The premium fee will be refunded.
  • Units transporting dangerous goods, livestock or over-dimensional loads may not book as premium units.

Why are changes being made? 
Our goal is to improve the service options we provide our customers. Our customers have asked for more access and flexibility to better align with the transportation realities they face every day, such as impacts to timelines that are beyond their control.  

Will there be more changes? 
We will monitor these changes as they come into effect and continue to review feedback from our customers. Additional modifications may be made to further the goal of meeting our customers’ needs.
