Happy Holidays from all of us at Marine Atlantic

The Holiday Season is truly a time to reflect upon the past, the present and the future.

For Marine Atlantic, we are very proud of what we have achieved during the past year. We are approaching the final stretch of our 5-year funding commitment and through co-operation, dialogue and hard work we have already significantly improved our service. In just three years we have introduced a new vessel fleet, made substantial upgrades to our shore-based infrastructure and brought forward process changes that are improving our business functions both internally and externally. These are tremendous accomplishments in such a short period of time and a reflection of the ongoing efforts of our employees.

At Marine Atlantic, the Holiday Season is a very special time of year. We are proud of our employees who make the extra effort in our communities and on our vessels to spread the holiday spirit. Our service is truly unique as we will help reunite families and help transport the festive dinners that will be on the tables throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Many people may not know this secret, but we also help Santa transport many of his toys from the North Pole.  We are here to provide a service to you, our customer.

I sincerely hope that this Holiday Season provides you and your families with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I hope that you have the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones and enjoy this special time of year. If you plan to celebrate, please keep safety as the priority in everything you do. Planning in advance may make the difference between a joyous time and a very serious situation.

And, please remember those who are less fortunate or facing difficult times. A little help can go a long ways in putting a smile on someone’s face.

Again, Merry Christmas and all the best for a joyous and prosperous New Year; I look forward to our ongoing commitment to success in 2014.
