Onboard Marine Atlantic with the Downhome

While travelling with Marine Atlantic this summer, why not sit back, kick up your feet, and check out some great reading material? Our official onboard publication is the Downhome, and we offer complimentary copies on each of our vessels and in our terminals.

The Downhome is the largest paid circulation magazine in Atlantic Canada, and reaches close to 225,000 readers with every issue. The publication features a wide range of rich content including tales of travel and adventure, stunning photography, delicious recipes, and fun puzzles. In addition, the copies we bring onboard and in our terminals are covered with a branded Marine Atlantic wrap, featuring news about the organization, new marketing materials, and employee profiles.

One of our favorite articles in the new August issue is “A Boy’s View of the Gulf Ferry”, where a Downhome reader recalls the childhood thrills of summer trips home to Newfoundland from the United States, especially crossing the Gulf on the CN ferries in the 1960’s. He recalls vividly the wide-eyed wonder of boarding and exploring the MV William Carson, and all the sights, sounds and smells of the mighty vessel.
