This summer, we embarked on an epic journey that wouldn’t have been possible without Marine Atlantic. Our destination? Newfoundland—an incredible island on the east coast of Canada that’s only accessible by boat or plane! (Fun fact: Newfoundland is home to the easternmost point in North America!) 🌍
We booked two weeks off and drove from Toronto to Newfoundland, exploring countless unique places along the way. We were able to take him for a walk and enjoy some fresh air, which eased his excitement before the journey. And let me tell you, nothing beats the feeling of watching the sun set over the ocean with your dog by your side, knowing that you’re about to start an unforgettable adventure.
The ferry itself was spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of seating and entertainment options to help pass the time. But since we opted for the pet-friendly cabin, Espresso was able to stay with us, avoiding any separation anxiety (for both him and us!). The cabin was cozy, clean, and perfect for winding down after a long drive.
What truly made the trip unforgettable? The stunning ocean views during the crossing and the thoughtful little touches provided by Marine Atlantic. Upon boarding, we received a treat bag just for Espresso, complete with a free water bowl—such a nice touch!
