Proud of our History - Cape Tormentine Terminal

Marine Atlantic, its predecessor CN Marine, and pre-confederation Newfoundland coastal boats have a strong and proud history serving the people of Atlantic Canada through ferry terminals, passenger vessels and rail service.

Recognized as an important part of both the Atlantic Canadian railway and ferry service infrastructure, Cape Tormentine became a gateway for goods and people throughout the region.

We hope you enjoy these photos which show a busy ferry terminal that played an integral role in connecting Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick for over 80 years.

As always, we welcome your photos for posting in a future blog. Please email your photos to [email protected]  including any facts such as the date and location.

Next week, we highlight the SS Bar Haven, a Newfoundland coastal boat that served from 1948 to 1973.
