Proud of our History - The Grand Manan Ferry Service
Marine Atlantic, its predecessor CN Marine, and pre-confederation Newfoundland coastal boats have a strong and proud history serving the people of Atlantic Canada through ferry terminals, passenger vessels and rail service.
Operating between Grand Manan and Black’s Harbour, NB, the ferry service was operated through Marine Atlantic’s former subsidiary company, Coastal Transport Limited, on behalf of the Government of New Brunswick. Sailing on the Bay of Fundy, the ferry service helped transport thousands of tourists and connected the Island residents with mainland New Brunswick each crossing.
