Proud of our History - the MV Marine Nautica

Marine Atlantic, its predecessor CN Marine, and pre-confederation Newfoundland coastal boats have a strong and proud history serving the people of Atlantic Canada through ferry terminals, passenger vessels and rail service.

A well-recognized vessel that transported passengers and freight between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, it was considered one of the pillars of the crossing for over a decade. With increased deck space, the vessel was able to transport significantly more trucks on each crossing than was previously possible.

We hope you enjoy these photos of a vessel that reflects an era in Marine Atlantic’s storied history.

As always, we welcome your photos for posting in a future blog. Please email your photos to [email protected]  including any facts such as the date and location.
