Proud of our History - the original MV Bluenose

Marine Atlantic, its predecessor CN Marine, and pre-confederation Newfoundland coastal boats have a strong and proud history serving the people of Atlantic Canada through ferry terminals, passenger vessels and rail service.

A vessel that transported tourists and commercial trucks between Nova Scotia and the United States, it was recognized as a ship that offered stately amenities and travel convenience for passengers and businesses alike.

During its 27 years in service, the vessel transported millions of passengers and vehicles across the Bay of Fundy.

We hope you enjoy these photos showing the original vessel on the Yarmouth-Bar Harbour crossing. As always, we welcome your photos for posting in a future blog. Please email your photos to [email protected]  including any facts such as the date and location.
