Evening update on Incident involving MV Blue Puttees

At approximately 5:00pm NL time, the MV Blue Puttees successfully returned to dock in Port aux Basques.

An investigation into today's incident and follow-up inspections to determine whether there is any damage to the vessel are ongoing.

There will be impacts to Marine Atlantic's sailing schedule due to this incident and customers will be contacted directly with any revised sailing times. Updates will also be provided on Marine Atlantic's website, www.marineatlantic.ca.

Marine Atlantic thanks affected passengers, especially those onboard the MV Blue Puttees today, for their patience. Marine Atlantic would also like to recognize the crew of the MV Blue Puttees , the Terminal staff in North Sydney and Port aux Basques, the other staff involved in managing the incident, and the Town of Port aux Basques for their efforts to help address today's situation.
