MV Highlanders to Return to Service

Earlier this morning, the MV Highlanders experienced a mechanical issue that resulted in the vessel going to anchor in Sydney Harbour prior to arriving at the dock in North Sydney. Technicians spent several hours on board the vessel this afternoon to identify the issue, which was isolated to an electrical power issue. This issue has since been rectified and all systems have been tested and found operational.

The vessel will return to service this evening and will arrive in Port aux Basques early tomorrow morning. There is expected to be minimal impact on Marine Atlantic's operating schedule.
